These abstracted portraits of individuals are taken from the
search results from a google image search of the word “crowd”.
They developed from an interest in the social construction of collective human expression,
and how that expression constructs individuals’ sense of self.
Their reflective surface, which makes them difficult to photograph,
is meant as a reference to the reflective screens of our digital tool culture,
which we use towards these ends.
